After a quick hike down to the pools as the sun set, we took a dip into the water, swam out to the waterfall, and relaxed ... having finally reached our destination

But as we got out of the pool, we realized just how dark it had become.

The hike back to the car was long and dangerous, as we made our way through an impenetrable darkness, across razor-sharp lava-rocks, and through long windy trails covered in a canopy of lush vegetation.

Although this was the end of the hike, it was only the beginning of another adventure... as we now had to drive back home on a one lane, cliff hugging, dirt road ... dark, dangerous, and blocked by the occasional cow!
